Both Niklas and Mikaela had really good stabil runs in the 3 days long competition. And both place 2nd in their categories.

23.3 Niklas had a good weekend on Kitzteinhorn X-over Ride FWQ, after a stabil smooth run he took 2nd place
16-17.3 A great weekend for TeamHollsten. On saturday Niklas takes a 2nd place in Kappl Open Faces FWQ and Mikaela takes a 3rd place in Nendaz Freeride FWQ. On sunday Niklas takes 1st place in Ankogel Freeride.
2.3 Was time for Goldeck freeride 2*FWQ. Where was a FWQ record of Finnish participants. Niklas takes a 3rd place, 0,3 points after Tuomas Immonen who was 2nd.

17-19.5 Niklas and Mikaela goes for Scandinavian BigMountain championships in Rlksgränsen Sweden. Mikaela rides all 4 solid runs and win the womens snowboard category. Niklas climbed really good on the ranking since day 1 and ends up on a 4th place, in a really high level competition

25.3 Mallnitz Freeride, Kärnten championships. Niklas has a good weekend and win this competition too and get extra price for best score in all classes and categories. Mikaela takes a 2nd place
24.3 X-over ride 3*FWQ in Kitzsteinhorn, Austria. Niklas takes his first victory in a FWQ competition. Also Mikaela rides good and take a 2nd place.
22.3 A many years dream comes true. Niklas climb and ride Grossglockner 3798m(Austrias highest mountain) with Bernd Horvath, Christian and Martin. A 12 hours tour. Niklas rides down the steep glocknerleitn rinne.
15-17.3 Niklas and Mikaela rides Nendaz freeride 4*FWQ in Switzerland. Niklas make it to the finals, Mikaela has not the luck on her side this time. In the finals Niklas has a good and solid run wit a big grop. The judges do a big misstake and judge wrong rider and Niklas dont get the right points for his run. 11.3 2nd place for Mikaela in First Track freeride 3*FWQ in Switzerland
9-10.3 Niklas takes part in Polish freeride open championships in Heiligenblut, Austria. He takes a good nice 2nd place in the comp.

3-4.2 Niklas and Mikaela took part in Black Diamond BigMountain Hochfuegen 4*FWQ. It was the coldest competition so far in their "career", on the competition-day it was -28 degrees with wind on the startingpoint. Mikaela ended up on a 5th place after a small buttslam on a drop. Niklas ended up on a 8th place, even if he had a stabil run with 3 landed drops.
6-8.1-12 Niklas arranged Ankogel X-treme Invitational, the event got supergood feedback even if the weather was not really on our side this time.

7.12-11 The winter has started, TeamHollsten is back in Mallnitz, Austria for new adventures in the mountains.
22.9-11 Niklas and Nives biked over Grossglockner Hochalpenstrasse, the highest car road in Austria
30.8-11 Biker, freerider and dancer Nives Hollsten joins the team. The hardcore girl is home from Croatia and nowdays living in Finland.

17-19.5-11 Mikaela and Niklas went by driving to Riksgränsen in Sweden for Scandinavian BigMountain Championships. Mikaela got a 2nd place in womens snowboard and Niklas got 5th place in mens snowboard.
In men snowboard was recordly many riders this year, 29 riders, top 11 got to finals. Competition was 3 days with 3 runs and all runs counted together. A good end of the season for TeamHollsten

26-30.4-11 Mikaela took her first victory in women Freeride World Tour 4* competition in Röldal Freeride.
TeamHollsten went to Norway, to ride Röldal Freeride FWT/FWQ. Both Niklas and Mikaela was pre-qualified for the semifinals. Mikaela did a good run in both semifinals and finals and won the both days. Niklas had a krash on the last cliffdrop in the semifinal and didnt make it to the finals.

10-13.3-11 Niklas and Mikaela went to Nendaz in Switzerland for Nendaz Freeride womens Freeride World Tour and mens 4* FWQ . Finnish TV YLE FST Sportmagasinet was also there to follow TeamHollsten over the competition weekend.
Mikaela had to ride the open qualification on Friday and Niklas got straight into Saturdays finals. Mikaela had 2 solid runs in the open qualifications and got also to the finals on Saturday totally 6 girls got into finals.
In the finalface the snow was good but kind of "sugarsnow". Mikaela was 1st rider out and had really good snow without tracks, she had a supergood run until the last couloir where she got cought in sluff. So she ended up on a 5th place. She is now 6th on the world ranking
In men snowboard there was 12 riders in the final. Niklas was one of the last riders out and the snow was not too good anymore and it had came in "flatlight". Niklas had a solid run with 1 big drop and 2 smaller one. He just had to stop for sluff once what reduced his points, and he also ended up on a nice 5th place. Niklas is now 4th on the world qualifier ranking. The riding level in this competition was really high.

9.3-11 Mikaela did a first decent on snowboard after been hiking up to Ankogel 3252 meter and rode down the west couloir to Böckstein Anlauftal 1100 meter. The run starts with a traverse over a glacier, and then over a snowfield what ends up in a 1300 vertical meter couloir what is in avarage around 45 degrees steep and most narrow part around 3 meter. 22.2-1.3-11 TeamHollsten went to Andorra for Eldorado Freeride 3*FWQ and to get some nice pictures. The competition went really good for Mikaela she got 2nd place after been taking a steep couloir with 2 drops, a solid run. Niklas had bad luck in his run,Niklas board got stucked in "sharks"on the takeoff on a a.15 meter cliff in a couloir and he felt down head first. He was lucky and landed on his back in powder, and could ride down to finnish. Niklas got 8th place what was pretty good position after such a hard krasch. TeamHollsten also got some good photos on their trip, they was lucky with the weather and got 3 days of ridning beside the competition in 50cm powder. 1.2-11 A first decent! Niklas has for a long time(years) been checking out a couloir to ride close to Ankogel, on Schönbretterkogel 2732m and now the conditions was good and stabil. Niklas hiked alone up to the top with help of iceax and crampons. The couloir was 45-55 degrees steep. The climb took 2h45min and the run down took 10 minutes. 26-28.1-11 After Jasna "TeamHollsten" drove to St Moritz in Switzerland to take part in Stimorol EngadinSnow FWQ 3*. Mikaela went out as 2nd snowboarder, and triggered lot of sluff in her run. She was not happy with her run but she still ended up on a 3.place. Niklas has an small krasch on the last cliffdrop, what reduced his point a lot in the comp.
20-22.1-11 Niklas and Mikaela took part in Jasna Adrenalin FWQ 3*. Both made really good results, Mikaela won women`s snowboard and Niklas took a 2nd place in men snowboard. Great weekend for TeamHollsten!
7-9.1-11 Niklas arranged Ankogel X-treme Invitational, an freeride competition in Mallnitz/Ankogel. The competition was for invited riders and some WildCards. The concept was to have a great time with good riding.
And it looked like it was a success, around 25 riders from 6 countries joined the comp. and all riders was on good mood, the only sad thing was that the freeride comp. had to be postponed to sunday because of bad visibility and some riders had to go home.
But instead of having a boring saturday we arranged an Chinese downhill race almost from the top to the bottom station and it was a success. On sunday the weather was good and we could have the freeride competition in super good snow!
Mikaela got an 1st place in girls Chinese downhill and a shared 1st place in the girls freeride competition. Niklas won the men`s freeride competition, his run included and 9 meter drop, an backflip and an doubbledrop.
26.12-10 Niklas has been choosen to the Sportman of the year 2010 in his home municipality, Kimitoön.
